Our 2015 Nantucket IceWorks Hockey Training Program will be held at Nantucket Ice,
located at 1 Backus Lane, Nantucket, MA. It is a half day, one-week program which allows your player the opportunity to train hard the first half of the day and still enjoy the summer season on the scenic island of Nantucket, Massachusetts.
At Ice Works we provide professional training with a personal touch. Our camp will provide your player with the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, as well as give the players tips on how to continue these techniques as they move into their team seasons.
Ice Works “Elite Hockey Training” program is the most comprehensive hockey camp in New England for all ages and levels of experience. Whether the player is a beginner or an experienced hockey player, Ice Works will meet their needs. All players are grouped according to age and skill level to guarantee individualized personal training by our staff. What distinguishes Ice Works from our competitors is the caliber of our staff, our intensive skill-building curriculum and the availability of the director at all camps. Highly regarded throughout the hockey industry, our instructors have played or coached in the collegiate and/or professional level.
Ice Works is a comprehensive training program consisting of on-ice and dry land training, team building, nutritional academic classroom instruction and video analysis. Enrollment is limited to 40 players and 6 goalies in order to achieve a projected student to teacher ratio of 5:1. Ice Works ensures results by combining its unique training program with an understood partnership with each student and their parents. Prior to commencement of camp, parents are involved in this partnership by providing a brief description of their child’s strengths and weaknesses. This information is vital to the development of the final camp curriculum to ensure individual needs are met and each player achieves maximum results.

Brian’s reputation is one of technical excellence worldwide. He has trained players from the U.S.A., Finland, Sweden, Canada, Australia, and Czech Republic. He is regarded by many as one of the most influential and motivating coaches for high school hockey players. Former players of Brian have played for preparatory schools such as Exeter Academy, Philips Andover Academy, Deerfield Academy, Avon Old Farms, and Governor Dummer Academy to name a few. Coach Payne develops his players into highly skilled, motivated hockey players with a strong sense of sportsmanship. Brian has a strong relationship with various preparatory schools, collegiate, and professional organizations.
Rich Dempsey is one of the top young coaches in Prep-School hockey today. He is currently the head coach at the St. George’s School in Newport, RI. Last year, St. George’s had one of the best years in recent school history, finishing fifth in the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) post-season tournament. Coach Dempsey played collegiate hockey at Bowdoin College from 1992-1994. During his collegiate career at Bowdoin, Coach Dempsey played in three ECAC hockey championship games, winning the Championship in 1993. As the teams captain his senior year, he helped Bowdoin to its first-ever NCAA tournament appearance, recording one of the best records in the college’s history.
Success has followed Alex throughout his brilliant hockey career. Recently, Alex coached with Andy Murray (Prior Head Coach – LA Kings) at Shattuck St. Mary’s School in Fairbault, MN. Alex accepted the head coaching position at the Brooks School in Andover, MA. In his first year Alex lead his team to the New England Prep School Tournament. As a player, Alex’s career was full of accomplishments. While playing in the USHL for the Madison Capitals, he was voted as the Player of the Year and the team’s MVP. At Colby College, Alex once again was recognized for his brilliant play as he was selected as an ECAC All-Star, Two Time MVP, and was an Honorable Mention for the All American Team.
