Ice Works is extremely proud to offer Cap Raeder’s goalie clinics. Cap’s extensive hockey career
started in his home town of Needham, MA where he led his team to a high school state championship
in 1970. He continued to play at the University of New Hampshire earning First Team All American in
1974 and was drafted in 1973 by the Montreal Canadians. After college Cap’s playing career was highlighted by two seasons with the New England Whalers of the WHA, and represented Team USA in the 1976 Canada Cup.

After switching from player to coach, Cap spent 1983–1988 as the head coach of Clarkson University. He jumped to the NHL in 1988 as the assistant coach of the Los Angeles Kings for 7 years, Boston Bruins for 2 years, and San Jose Sharks for 3 years. He is presently in his eleventh season as a professional scout for the San Jose Sharks and the goalie coach for the San Jose’s AHL affiliate,
the Worcester Sharks. Cap is also the on-air color analyst for the NCAA Frozen Four, and is the onice
director for The Wayne Gretzky Fantasy Camps. In 2007, Cap Raeder was inducted into the Massachusetts Hockey Hall of Fame.
