IceWorks Elite Hockey School

Our “Elite” hockey school is the most comprehensive hockey training program on the beautiful island of Nantucket! This 4-day training program is designed for all types of players. Whether the student is a beginner or an experienced hockey player, this school will meet there needs. This hockey school will consists of 16 total hours of professional training, 8 hours of on-ice instruction and 6 hours of professional dryland training. Additionally, the enrollment is limited to 30 players and 4 goalies, assuring that each player receives the proper coaching and attention needed to maximize their results! The Ice Works “4S” on ice curriculum; skating, stick handling, shooting and situational play will be addressed throughout the week. The first ice session will deal with forward and backwards skating. Players will work on their balance, agility, edge control, lateral & linear speed and striding techniques. The second on-ice session, the curriculum will focus on stick handling, shooting and situational play. While focusing on stick handling, players will work on puck protection; various deke moves, head fakes and their passing and receiving skills. During the shooting stage, players will work on increasing their shot velocity and accuracy; all four shots (wrist, snap, slap and backhand) will be addressed. Lastly, the players will combine all of their skills they have learned throughout the day and incorporate them in game like situational drills. Following their on-ice training, all players will participate in a 1hr dryland training circuit. Here players will work on improving their core strength, lateral & linear speed, torso strength, flexibility, agility, speed and balance. Ice Works “Elite Hockey Training” only uses the newest training equipment and techniques to achieve these results. Medicine balls, bungee cords, parachutes, breakaway belts, skating machines and professional slide boards are just a few of these training devices used in our program.
